Abstract

To another Middle Ages

The Middle Ages is a historical period to be seen, in the long transition of European civilizations, as the last social and political organization in accordance with the religious conception of humanity, as organized according to superior principles derived from religious commandments. By analyzing the way authority is defined and put in practice and how society organizes in orders by reflecting the divine, superior ordering, the article sheds light on the modern and contemporary confusion and social disorder. By emphasizing function and by founding social divisions on the essential functional differentiation, the Medieval society is in deep contrast with the current emphasis on power. Getting rid of all superior meanings, the contemporary society is entrenched in value confusion and egoist struggle for personal supremacy.

Keywords: Middle Ages, religion, orders, social structure, tradition.
